SemiconductorStore.com unveils Applications section for EngineersHawthorne, CA, August 16, 2006 – SemiconductorStore.com, the online division of Symmetry Electronics which is already helping shape the way that engineers research and buy electronic components online, announced the opening of its brand new applications section, created to provide design engineers with a better way to find electronic components, improve their designs and reduce the time-to-market for their end products. Starting today, The Symmetry Group, the organization that’s given engineers and procurement professionals a new way to look at design-oriented distribution is giving its customers a new way to look for electronic components. Designed by engineers for engineers, this new applications section takes some of the most researched applications today and displays them in easy to navigate Flash diagrams that highlight all of the components available for those applications through SemiconductorStore.com and Symmetry Electronics. “The new applications section assists engineers in quickly finding the right parts for their designs,” said David Beck, SemiconductorStore.com FAE. “By highlighting a list of potential solutions for a variety of applications, an engineer can not only find the specific device they are looking for, but can also see a number of complimentary devices that may enhance their own design.” The initial launch includes the first group of application diagrams as part of the beta testing with plans to add more than 150 total diagrams to the site before the end of the calendar year. This first batch includes an Automotive Entertainment System, Digital Video Recorder, GPS Navigation Unit, Patient Monitoring System among several others. Engineers can expect to see a robust number of applications from the Audio/Video and Wireless markets as those are key sectors for SemiconductorStore.com however, no application will be turned away and suggestions from customers will always be welcome. These application diagrams represent the culmination of over a year of work and coordination between the SemiconductorStore.com FAEs, suppliers and customers in an effort to bring yet another method of getting new and emerging technology into the hands of engineers. From now on, when an engineer visits SemiconductorStore.com, if they know what they’re making, they’ll know how to make it better.
