Symmetry Electronics Signs Deal to Distribute Microchip Technology’s Entire Line of Embedded Semiconductors and Development ToolsHawthorne, Calif., September 25, 2006 - Symmetry Electronics, the growing leader in design-oriented electronic component distribution, announced today that it has signed an agreement to add Microchip Technology Inc. [NASDAQ: MCHP], a leading provider of microcontroller and analog semiconductors, to its growing list of suppliers. Under the terms of the agreement, Symmetry Electronics is authorized to promote and sell Microchip’s complete line of embedded semiconductor and development-tool products, including: PIC ® microcontrollers and dsPIC ® Digital Signal Controllers (DSCs), analog and interface semiconductors, EEPROM non-volatile memory and MPLAB ® development tools, through its e-commerce website www.SemiconductorStore.com, and throughout Mexico. “Microchip is recognized worldwide for their outstanding products, their no-nonsense approach to business and their focus on maintaining a high rate of continuous improvement for their shareholders and customers. Microchip offers two 16-bit microcontroller families—the cost-effective PIC24F and the high-performance PIC24H—to give engineers multiple options across a wide spectrum of price, performance and features.
