General Description Nordic Semiconductor's nRF2402G wireless RF Transmitter is the Industry's smallest, lowest cost, lowest current consumption and low voltage supply 2.4GHz wireless RF transmitter. It provides global wireless equipment vendors with 2.4GHz wireless technology at the price and complexity of lower frequencies. The nRF2402 ideally complements the higly successful nRF2401 wireless RF transceiver offering vendors with unidirectional equipment a lower cost alternative. The nRF2402 is a highly integrated component for wireless communication manufactured in an ultra modern 0.18mm CMOS process. The entire transmitter including all inductors and filters is integrated in a single chip that gives the lowest cost solution to the end user. The only external components needed to make a complete RF system are a crystal and a resistor. Current consumption is around 10mA in transmit mode @ -5dBm and the total solution fits into a 4x4mm package. The nRF2401 is designed for wireless transmitter applications in wireless game controllers, PC peripherals, wireless headsets, sports and leisure equipment, toys, RF-ID, remote control, and interactive equipment. All configuration of the nRF2402 transmitter is done via a standard serial interface. nRF2402 can replace IR and typical 27MHz communication in most applications. An innovative embedded feature in nRF2402 to reduce cost and current consumption is "ShockBurst™" which uses an onboard FIFO to buffer up data and transmit in bursts, as well as dedicated on chip logic to compute the CRC checksum. nRF2402G Features
