AL128

The AL128 video format converter from Averlogic is a converter chip which accepts graphic data from a PC or Macintosh graphics controller and converts it into NTSC or PAL TV signals. This is a new chip which provides analog RGB output for SCART implementation. SmartFilter™, an anti-flicker filter, maintains the original clarity and sharpness, but removes unpleasant flicker. The AL128 is able to process high resolution data without the use of software and with less memory than competitor’s solutions due to automatically detecting the scan rate and resolution of the incoming graphic signals. This product requires only four push buttons to control the major functions, which include sharpness, pan, zoom, color bar output, etc. Either analog or digital RGB data can be input to the chip. Once digitized, the DSP unit performs scan conversion operations and other digital signal processing, which is then sent to the digital TV encoder for converting into broadcast quality. This can be in the form of S-video signals or original RGB format.
