ACIL

Formerly the American Council of Independent Laboratories, ACIL is a national association of independent scientific and engineering laboratory testing and R&D companies. ACIL defines independent scientific and engineering services firms as commercial entities engaged in analysis, testing, inspection, materials engineering, sampling, product certification, research and development and related consulting services.

American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA)

The A2LA is a nonprofit, scientific, membership organization dedicated to the formal recognition of testing and calibration organizations that have achieved a demonstrated level of competence.

American Electronics Association (AEA)

The AEA is a high-tech trade association representing all segments of the electronics industry. AEA is dedicated to strengthening the US electronics community's competitive position in the global marketplace.

American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT)

ASNT promotes the discipline of nondestructive testing (NDT) as a profession and facilitates NDT research. The organization also provides NDT educational materials and training programs.

American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM)

An international society that works to develop high-quality voluntary technical standards for materials, products, systems, and services. The ASTM International Directory of Testing Laboratories is an on-line full text search for services and locations of testing laboratories.

American Society of Test Engineers (ASTE)

An all volunteer non-profit corporation with members in 22 States and Canada. ASTE is dedicated to the Quality, Integrity, and Advancement of the Test Engineering Profession. Peer Helping Peer.

Audio Engineering Society (AES)

The Audio Engineering Society, now in its fifth decade, is the only professional society devoted exclusively to audio technology. Its membership of leading engineers, scientists and other authorities has increased dramatically throughout the world, greatly boosting the society's stature and that of its members in a truly symbiotic relationship.

Automated Imaging Association (AIA)

The AIA is organized specifically to serve machine vision suppliers and users. Its more than 210 member companies include leading manufacturers of machine vision components and systems, machine vision users, machine vision system integrators, universities and non-profit research groups, and financial firms tracking the machine vision industry. Key AIA activities include sponsorship of machine vision trade shows, conferences and workshops, and publication of the annual Machine Vision Market Study.

Electronic Design Automation Consortium (EDAC)

EDAC works on technological, political, and business measures affecting American’s EDA vendors.

Electronic Industries Alliance (EIA)

This blanket group includes more than a half-dozen separate organizations dealing with various aspects of electronics, telecommunications, and consumer electronics. The EIA’s subordinate organizations set technical and political policy for its member companies.

FSA

Fabless Semiconductor Association: In support of the fabless model as the preferential semiconductor business model, the FSA will support the ongoing, symbiotic relationship between fabless semiconductor companies and suppliers; facilitate productive business partnerships; create awareness and promote the acceptance of the fabless business model; disseminate relevant data; and nurture the creation, adoption and implementation of standards and policies vital to the fabless model.

Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)

The IEEE is a non-profit, technical professional association of more than 350,000 individual members in 150 countries. Through its members, the IEEE is a leading authority in technical areas ranging from computer engineering, biomedical technology and telecommunications, to electric power, aerospace and consumer electronics, among others.

International Society for Optical Engineering (SPIE)

SPIE is an international technical society dedicated to advancing engineering, scientific, and commercial applications of optical, photonic, imaging, electronic, and optoelectronic technologies.

IPC-Association Connecting Electronics Industries

In 1999, IPC changed its name from Institute of Interconnecting and Packaging Electronic Circuits to IPC. The new name is accompanied with an identity statement, Association Connecting Electronics Industries. IPC started in 1957 as the Institute for Printed Circuits. As more electronics assembly companies became involved with the association, the name was changed to the Institute for Interconnecting and Packaging Electronic Circuits.

ISA

An international society of more than 47,000 professionals involved in instrumentation, measurement, and control. ISA publishes books and magazines, provides training, develops standards, and organizes conferences and exhibitions.

Japan Electric Measuring Instruments Manufacturer's Association (JEMIMA)

National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE)

Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI)

SEMI represents 2,400 companies around the world, promoting and encouraging development of semiconductor manufacturing technology.

Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE)

Surface Mount Technology Association (SMTA)

A non-profit international association of companies and individuals involved in all aspects of the electronics industry. Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA)

TIA provides telecommunications materials, products, systems, distribution services, and professional services to the US and other countries. TIA represents the telecommunications industry in association with the Electronic Industries Alliance.

The Fibre Channel Industry Association (FCIA)

FCIA is organized as a not-for-profit, mutual benefit corporation. The FCIA was formed in the fall of 1999 as a result of a merger between the Fibre Channel Association (FCA) and the Fibre Channel Community (FCC). The FCIA currently has more than 150 members in the United States and through its affiliate organizations in Europe and Japan.

World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS)

Keeps monthly and yearly figures on semiconductor sales and shipments worldwide. Some of its statistics are available for free on its website.
