AS-Interface (Actuator Sensor Interface) is a bus system for low level field applications in industrial automation. The primary application is communication with small binary sensors and actuators using the AS-i standard. The AS-Interface modernizes automation systems effectively, saving installation costs and time. The easy "plug and play" capabilities of AS-Interface products will minimize maintenance costs.

A significant feature of AS-Interface is the “Yellow Cable.”
The 2 wires in the AS-i cable transmit power and data to all points in the network. To transform the binary data in the physical layer of the AS-Interface, highly integrated circuits are required.
