Sony's "Green Partner" Program

Sony, using its collective market power, has established its own set of regulations regarding the move towards more environmentally conscious electronics. While these regulations apply to all Sony products, Sony has gone one step further by actually registering its part suppliers under what it calls its "Green Partner" program.

As of April 2003, Sony will only buy parts, for its end products, from suppliers who have qualified as "Green Partners" In addition, Sony's "Green Partners" must renew their "Green Partner" status with a Sony auditor every 2 years.
