About HDBaseT™ Alliance
Incorporated on June 14, 2010, the HDBaseT™ Alliance was formed by LG Electronics, Samsung Electronics, Sony Pictures Entertainment and Valens Semiconductor to promote and commercialize HDBaseT™ technology. HDBaseT™ enables a single LAN calbe to replace multiple calbles and connectors in the home entertainment and business environment.
HDBaseT™ is optimized for video applications and can connect all the entertainment devices in a setting by providing the 5Play™ convergence of uncompressed full HD digital video, audio, 100BaseT Ethernet, power over cable and various control signals.
Members supporting HDBaseT™ technology play a vital part in defining the future of multimedia transmission and data communication in the consumer electronics and content provider industries.

Experience HDBaseT™ with Valens Evaluation Kit
Valens offers a variety of Evaluation Kits (EVK) that demonstrate HDBaseT capabilities.
an EVK is comprised of a Sink board and a Source board, forming an HDBaseT link, designed to enable simplified, long-reach wired connectivity of uncompressed HD multimedia content, Ethernet, Controls and Power over a single standard 100m/328ft CAT5e (or superior) cable.
Valens Evaluation Kit supports the following features:

HDBaseT™ with the Power of PoH
Silvertel has designed and developed several Power over Ethernet (PoE) module ranges to suit different applications. Their PoE modules require minimal external components and all have built-in signature recognition and class programming which compiles to the IEEE802.3af standard.
Symmetry Eastern Region Director of Sales, Chris Binnie's HDBaseT/PoE comment from Forbes.com:
So there are 2 basic technologies behind HDBaseT. First of all there is the silicon that transmits and receives the data. This is available for Valens, and then there is the Power side, which is derived from Power over Ethernet (PoE). The PoE spec - IEEE802.3at - only gets you around 25W. The Power over HDBaseT (PoH) will get you close to 100W. PoH is available from Silvertel
