From Digi: "Where the Cloud Meets the Edge at #ew19"
The Embedded World trade fair in Nuremberg, Germany brings together the world of embedded systems with over 32,000 attendees, over 1,000 exhibitors from the embedded sector, and subject matter experts speaking from over 52 countries. This year, the Digi team is thrilled to be attending #ew19, exhibiting in Hall 3 Booth 629, and presenting with Amazon Web Services on how the Internet of Things (IoT) meets the edge. Continue reading to meet these embedded experts and to discover where the cloud meets the edge at embedded world, on February 27, 2019 from 11:30am-12:00pm.
Andreas Burghart, Sales Solution Engineer, Digi International
With over 20 years in world of embedded, Andreas has acquired a deep knowledge of embedded technology working in product development, sales engineering, and business development. His spectrum of expertise ranges from embedded hardware, software development environments, and understanding the critical steps involved in establishing a successful embedded design for today’s demanding applications.
Richard Elberger, Global IoT Partners Solutions Architect, Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Richard has over 20 years of working in the software and services industry. In his current role, he uses this experience to work with hardware partners from around the world to ensure they can build amazing and innovative IoT solutions with AWS.
On Thursday, February 27, 2019 from 11:30am – 12:00pm in the Conference Counter NCC, these embedded experts will discuss what it takes to bring intelligence to the next generation of technology demands, connectivity between multiple devices, third-party applications, and layers of the compute stack. In addition, they will discuss how an efficient edge solution’s compute capability can deploy and scale to fit application needs, optimize both performance and cost, and enable adaptation for value extension over time. For the IoT, they will cover these six design principles for an efficient edge:
- Reduce Connectivity Costs with Edge-Based Analytics
- Deploy Partitioned Edge-Compute and Avoid Purpose-Built Edge Computers
- Use Balanced, Distributed Compute to Optimize Cost While Maximizing Efficiency
- Reduce Latency and make Applications more Available and Effective Through Edge Programmability
- Manage Connectivity to the Edge
- Extend the Life of IoT Deployments with Hardware-Enabled, Software-Defined Edge Devices
A balance of cloud and edge computing, along with a renewed focused on the right hardware can help companies deliver intelligence everywhere. Attend this session to learn how to extend your compute capabilities to the edge of the IoT. The Digi team will be exhibiting in Hall 3, Booth 629 and will be featured in a number of partner booths. Stayed tuned for more details, and information about new product demonstrations that will be on display.
