The I-SYST IDAP-Link with enhanced features is a low cost CMSIS-DAP JTAG debug probe. 
It can do more than just debugging. It will appear as a USB disk drive. This allows firmware flashing easily by copying the firmware file over without requiring any special flashing software and work instantly with any operating system. It provides a UART to USB bridge for communication between the target device and the PC. It also provides a regulated 3.3V to directly power the target device without additional power source by taking advantage of the USB power source. These feature turns the target device into mBed enable. It can be used as an ultra low cost solution to production programming. BSP is provide for use with Open Source CMSIS-DAP firmware from which make it totally customizable.

Parallel Flashing of Nordic nRF5x using multiple IDAP-Link
IDAP-Link CMSIS-DAP and IDAPnRFProg is a command line tool for Flashing Nordic Semiconductor nRF51422 and nRF51822 SoCs. It is available on Windows and OSX. It can flash Softdevice, Application firmware and DFU hex files all at once without requiring to merge them first.
IDAP-Link is a debug JTAG implementation of the ARM standard CMSIS-DAP protocol:
  • It can be used for debugging firmware development
  • It is fully supported by all ARM software development IDE and OpenOCD
  • It can be used for production programming
  • It provides a UART to USB bridge for target device
  • It can provide 3.3 V to power target device directly without needing extern supply for the target device
Use case for Nordic Semiconductor nRF51422 and nRF51822 solutions:
  • The IDAnRFProg command line program. It can flash the Softdevice, the Application firmware and the DFU OTA without needing to merge the 3 hex files. It can also parallel programming the nRF51 series using multiple boards connected to one PC. For instance, if 10 IDAP-Links are connected to the same PC via a USB hub. The IDAPnRFProg will flash all 10 boards at once in parallel.
  • Drag & Drop. When connected to PC. The IDAP-Link will appears as a USB Flash drive. Firmware (.bin or .hex) can flashed in by copy the firmware file over the Flash drive. This feature can only flash one file, though require MergeHex.
  • Stand alone mode without PC using microSD. To use this feature, copy the require hex files (softdevice.hex and/or firmware.hex and/or dfu.hex) on to a microSD card. Insert is in the card slot undeneath of the IDAP-Link. Power up and press program button. This mode of operation does not require MergeHex.
