The Isolated CAN expansion board is an attachment board for the EFM32 starter kits that allows development and evaluation of the CAN peripheral on the MCU. The expansion board contains isloators that separate the CAN physical layer from the MCU to add noise immunity, surge protection, and level shifting.
The Isolated RS232/RS485 Evaluation Kit is a demonstration and evaluation platform for creating Isolated RS232 and RS485 solutions. It can be used in conjunction with EFM32 and EFM8 MCU Stater Kits (STKs). It simplifies the process of creating an isolated RS solution by offering an already built and functioning platform. The board schematics are available and there are examples that can be run on the MCU STKs to communicate via isolated RS232 or RS485. The board contains two isolators, an RS232/485 transceiver, a 20-pin breakout header for easy connection, many headers for debugging and evaluation, male DB9 port, and screw terminals for RS485.
