TOREX SEMICONDUCTOR LTD. (Chuo-Ku, Tokyo: President, Tomoyuki Fujisaka) announces the release of the XC6415 series of a dual LDO voltage regulators and the XC6221 series of a single LDO voltage regulator. The XC6415 series is a dual LDO voltage regulator and the XC6221 series is a single LDO voltage regulator. Both feature an ON/OFF function. Each output voltage of both series can be set internally by laser trimming in 0.05V increments within a range of 0.8V to 5.0V. By using the EN pin, the IC can be put into stand-by and the power supply current can be reduced to less than 0.1μA. Both series can also be used with low ESR ceramic capacitors and are now available in newly developed ultra small, ultra low profile packages which are lower in height and smaller in footprint compared with the existing USP package technology. In fact, the new packages are the smallest & thinnest ever developed by Torex! The XC6415 series uses USPN-6 (1.3mm x 1.3mm x 0.4mm MAX.) and the XC6221 series uses USPN-4 (0.9mm x 1.2mm x 0.4mm MAX.). The height of the packages is only 0.4mm MAX., making them one of the world’s lowest profile plastic mould package types with almost the same dimensions as CSPs (Chip Scale Packages). Using USPN packaging enables small footprint board design. XC6415 Series Features - High-speed dual LDO regulator with low ON resistance - Independently controllable 2ch EN pins - Excellent transient response with stable output against load fluctuation - Low power supply current of 28μA (Typ.)/ch and high ripple rejection of 65dB@1kHz - In addition to USP-6C and SOT-26 packages, the newly developed USPN-6 package is also available for higher density mounting XC6221 Series Features - High-speed LDO regulator with low ON resistance - Excellent performance with only 25μA power supply current & low dropout voltage of 80mV at IOUT=100mA, VOUT=3.0V - High ripple rejection of 70dB@1kHz - High-speed auto discharge of charged output capacitor (CL) to Vss level - In addition to USP-4, SOT-25 and SSOT-24 packages, the newly developed USPN-4 package is also available for higher density mounting
